Noida: The agitated home buyers, under the NAFOMA scheme, staged protest against the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over delayed possession of their flats here on Friday.
CM Yogi was present in the city to address the National Youth Festival at Gautam Buddha University. The agitated people, who gathered there to meet the CM and report their grievance, were stopped outside the university gate by the security personnel.
They raised anti-Modi and anti-Yogi slogans under the banner of Noida Extension Flat Owners and Members Association (NAFOMA).
Home buyers term UP CM’s promise of the delivery of 80,000 homes by the end of March 2018 in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway as an eyewash and sought strict action against the builders.
The CM had earlier promised to help in delivering 50,000 flats by 2017 end.
According to NEFOMA, a few builders were given the completion certificate (cc) for about 5,000 flats, but they failed to give possession to the buyers.
NEFOMA chief Annu Khan said, “UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s promise of delivery of homes to buyers was just a sham. Buyers are bound to rent a flat despite paying EMIs for their own house at the same time.”
“UP government should undertake the construction project of these flats so that buyers can get their houses soon,” he added.
