Shooting for Jabariya Jodi wraps up
Lucknow: The Siddharth- Parineeti starrer Jabariya Jodi has created a lot of buzz ever since producer Ekta Kapoor released the film’s teaser on Twitter in August. Dharma Productions honcho, Karan Johar also slated the film to be a high concept drama piquing up our interests.
According to sources, the film that revolves around the concept of forced weddings, has just wrapped up its final schedule after 75 days of intensive shooting in Lucknow. The storyline is based in Bihar where the actor plays a man who has made a business of abducting grooms with Parineeti as his childhood love.
And amidst its lavish wedding settings, while Siddharth shall be seen in a never-seen-before avatar of a brash Bihari ruffian, Parineeti is set to be a sure shot charmer with her happy-go-lucky, bold and vivacious mannerisms.
The writer of the film Sanjeev K Jha created this high concept drama around the forced weddings that is still in practice in many parts of Bihar.
Sanjeev K Jha, who hails from Motihari, Bihar, is a Jamia Millia Islamia graduate and started his career with Vikas Gupta’s Lost Boy Production with the shows like ‘Pyar Tune Kya Kiya’ for Zee TV’s Zing and ‘Code Red’ for colors.
Sanjeev K Jha revealed that he decided to write on this subject after witnessing several such cases of groom kidnappings himself. The 30-year-old literature and film enthusiast has gathered a lot of attention for his edgy yet romantic content.
He said in a statement- “The characters and story of my film are real. Abhay Singh played by Sid still stays in my town, Motihari. You can actually meet him! Babli played by Parineeti also exists. All the events that you shall see in the film, I have heard or seen them myself or I have found out by roaming around in Bihar.”
Produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures and Shailesh Singh’s Karma Media, Jabariya Jodi is directed by Prashant Singh.
The film that promises to highlight the misdeeds of our imperfect society in a funny and entertaining manner also stars Aparshakti Khurana, Sanjay Mishra and Javed Jaffrey in eminent roles. The film is slated to release in 2019.
