New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated M Venkaiah Naidu, who took oath as the 13th Vice President of India on Friday during a ceremony in the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Welcoming the new chairman of Rajya Sabha, PM Modi said, “M Venkaiah Naidu is the first Vice President of India to be born post Independence,” adding, “It has been my privilege to work with Venkaiah ji.”
Saying that Naidu is well versed with the working of Rajya Sabha, PM Modi said that he has an eye for detail and would look into the minutest things from the rural sector to the urban one.

- Credit for major government schemes like Pradhanmantri Gram Sadak Yojna solely goes to Venkaiah Naidu.
- Naidu is a farmer’s son. He has been in state and the centre and has concern for both rural and urban.
