New Delhi: Virender Sehwag, who is known for his witty comments, faced the ire of Twitteratis after he didn’t mention the actual reason of the tragic incident that took place in Gorakhpur’s Baba Raghav Das Medical College.
Former explosive Indian batsman expressed grief over the death of over 60 children and said that it is heartbreaking that over 50,000 children have died since 1978 but there is no way to get rid of the fatal encephalitis.
Sehwag said, “Deeply pained by the loss of innocent lives in Gorakhpur. More than 50000 children have lost their lives here since encephalitis was first reported in 1978, the year I was born.”
People took to Twitter to slam Sehwag for not mentioning the recent Gorakhpur incident and also for uttering no words against the negligence of BJP government in the state and the hospital authority.
