The situation in the city remains tense after the incident.
After the arrest, the Patidar reservation agitation leader Hardik Patel sent out a threatening tweet demanding the immediate release of the arrested youth.
“If the youth aren’t released at the earliest, then Gujarat will witness a revolution,” Patel said in a tweet posted in Gujarati.

Earlier in the day on Tuesday, Patidar youth had disrupted an event organised by the BJPYM, which was being presided by state Yuva Morcha chief Ritwik Patel.
According to the reports, the protests turned violent once Hardik Patel arrived at the event. Soon the police had to charge the protesting Patidars with batons to bring the situation under control.
Cops arrested over 15 protesters which apparently angered the Patidars.
