Rampur: A massive fire broke out in two ATMs of State Bank of India in Rampur on Saturday. Though no casualties have been reported but the machines were majorly damaged.
The cash in the machines also turned into ashes. The cause of fire could not be ascertained and the investigation regarding how the incident took place was underway.
Two fire tenders were immediately put into service after they received a call to extinguish the fire.
According to the preliminary reports, the fire engulfed due to short circuit but no official reports has confirmed the statements.
The fire brigade official stated, “The fire was doused before the flames could reach the strong room behind the ATMs.”
It may be mentioned that the ATMs are located near Nawab gate in Rampur. Kiosks and Akashvani centre and Kiosks are also located in the area.
