Mamata Banerjee equates PM Narendra Modi with Kalidas

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday equated Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the greatest poet in the Sanskrit language, Kalidas, stating that the PM is cutting the same branch he is sitting on.

“The PM is behaving like Kalidas, trying to cut the branch he is sitting on,” said the Trinamool Congress chief.

Annoyed with the arrest of  two Trinamool Congress ministers Tapas Paul and Sudip Bandyopadhyay by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Mamata Banerjee called for the formation of a ‘National Government’ in the country.

She slammed PM Modi and said that the current situation calls for a ‘national government’ to be formed with another BJP person at helm. “PM Modi has to go,” she stated.

(A national government is a coalition government that subordinates party differences in favour of national interest during crisis situations.)

Banerjee said, “To save country, let a national government be formed. Advaniji, Rajnathji or Jaitleyji can head it. Current situation is unacceptable.”

The TMC chief has also sought President Pranab Mukherjee’s intervention to ‘save the country from Narendra Modi’.

While speaking on the arrest of two TMC ministers Mamata Banerjee stated, “The Centre can’t tolerate any opposition. We are speaking out against Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, which is why the CBI is attacking us now.”

The CM said that CBI was acting as an agent of the Centre to suppress the opposition.

The CBI has arrested both ministers for allegedly having connection with Rose Valley chit fund scam.
