Kolkata: Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Tuesday announced to wdon green jersey in the April 15 Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) match against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
While announcing that Nuvoco Vistas Corp Ltd has been contracted as the principle partner of the team, the organisers unveiled the date of their ‘Go Green initiative’. The tie-up means that the company’s brand Duraguard Cement will occupy the solus position in the back of the jersey.
The programme has been taking place every season in which captain Virat Kohli offers a small plant to his rival skipper and the names on the jersey are replaced by their Twitter handles.
“We support the green initiative and this year the match will be on April 15 when RCB take on Rajasthan Royals,” Madhumita Basu, chief of sales marketing and innovation, told reporters during RCB’s jersey unveiling here.
“Incidentally, Duraguard Cement is also available in Green bags and we hail the RCB sustainability approach of playing one game each season with a green jersey made of recycled plastic,” she added.
RCB is scheduled to begin its IPL 2018 campaign by taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens here on April.
