New Delhi: The BJP-led government at the Centre may soon blacklist Italian company Finmeccanica which is associated with AgustaWestland helicopter scandal.
Legal opinion has been sought in this connection as the government would not like any area uncovered before reaching a conclusion.
In the meantime all its new bids for other projects in the country have been cancelled. Maintenance and supply of equipments for its running projects will, however, continue.
The deals which have been cancelled included supply of 90 torpedoes to the country by one of its associated companies.
According to defence ministry sources, agreements for these schemes were signed during the previous United Progressive Alliance headed by the Congress. As much as Rs 1200 crores have been involved in these deals.
