Singapore: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un agreed on Tuesday with US President Donald Trump to completely denuclearize the Korean Peninsula in exchange for security guarantees.

Kim and Trump signed a joint statement after their historic meeting, the first between a US President and a North Korean leader. It was held at the Capella Hotel on Singapore’s resort island of Sentosa.

In the joint statement, Trump committed to providing security guarantees to North Korea, while Kim reaffirmed his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
