New Delhi: Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday formed a new front ‘Aawaaz-e-Punjab’ after talks with the Aam Aadmi Party remained unfruitful.
What Sidhu said?
- We have formed a new front along with Pargat Singh and Bains brother.
- This front will fight those working against Punjab.
There were speculations that Sidhu would join AAP on conditions after resigning from the Rajya Sabha. Sources close to the party said that the former BJP leader kept the condition of becoming the chief ministerial face during the upcoming assembly elections to be held next year.
Kejriwal had then took to micro-blogging website Twitter to shower praises on Sidhu.
He had said, “Would Navjot Sidhu ji join AAP — lot of rumours? Its my duty to put forward our side. We have greatest greatest regard for this cricket legend. He met me last week. Didn’t put any pre-condition. He needs time to think. Lets respect that.”
