Lucknow T20: Rohit Sharma record ton powers India to 195
Lucknow: Windies continue a flop show as after a disappointing bowling, West Indies managed to score just 124/9 runs in the given 20 overs, hence losing the game by 71 runs against India in the second T20I match played at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium here on Tuesday.
West Indies batting line collapsed miserably as Bravo, with just 23 runs on board, remained the highest scorer. Indian bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals right from the beginning of West Indies inning.
From India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, young Khaleel Ahmed and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each.
Earlier, hitman Rohit Sharma’s 58-ball ton was definitely a sumptuous display of batting during the second T20 match against West Indies. India collected 195 runs on the scoreboard, a massive to chase on the newly constructed stadium.
Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan gave the desired start to India by making a partnership of over 100 runs. Rohit remained not out and scored 111 runs off just 61 balls with eight 4s and seven 6s. Dhawan scored 43 runs off 41 balls.
KL Rahul also scored 26 runs off 14 balls that came at a very crucial time.
Winning the toss, West Indies skipper Carlos Brathwaite offered India to bat first.
Both teams have made one change each to their playing XIs. The hosts have brought back Bhuvneshwar Kumar in place of fellow pacer Umesh Yadav.
West Indies have brought in wicketkeeper-batsman Nicolas Poooran in place of Rovman Powell.
This is the first international cricket match to be held at the newly-renamed Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium.
