Bulandshahr violence: Four arrested, FIR filed against 87 people
Bulandshahr: The Uttar Pradesh Police arrested four people and detained few people in connection with the violence that took place on Monday in which a police inspector and one other were killed.
The violence erupted after a mob rampaged against alleged cow slaughter.
ADG Meerut Zone, Prashant Kumar, said, “The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate why the violence happened and why the police personnel left Inspector Subodh Kumar alone.”
Police have lodged two FIRs in the case. One FIR is against the alleged cattle slaughter and the other against the violent protests which followed. 27 people have been named in FIR against violent protests and 60 unnamed people have also mentioned in the FIR.

The son of the deceased Police officer stated, “My father wanted me to be a good citizen who doesn’t incite violence in society in the name of religion. Today my father lost his life in this Hindu-Muslim dispute, tomorrow whose father will lose his life?.”
It is to be mentioned that Police Inspector Subodh Singh and one other were killed while many others were critically injured in Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh on Monday after violence broke out in the aftermath of an alleged case of cow slaughter.
According to information here, members of several Hindu groups with an alleged cow carcass gathered on the Bulandshahr-Syana road and pelted stones at the police personnel.
The Hindu Yuva Vahini and Bajrang Dal activists also vandalized vehicles and attacked police officials. They torched several passing vehicles.
