Lucknow: The state capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow became the second most polluted city of the state with air quality index 320 recorded on Thursday.

While Varanasi came out to be the most polluted city of UP with an AQI of 350, other cities such as Noida, Agra, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida and Kanpur improved Lucknow left Delhi far behind in terms of air quality index.

Delhi infamous for its air quality has noted some significant progress with AIQ 2017 on thursday, which was earlier pegged around and above AIR 350.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), some areas of Lucknow that marked the highest level of air pollution are Lalbagh with an AQI of 327, followed by Talkatora at 317, Nishatganj at 309 and Aliganj at 204.
