Sultanpur: Retaliating to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Behenji Sampatti Party’ remark, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Monday described Narendra Damodardas Modi as ‘Negative Dalit Man’.
Addressing a rally here, she stated, “Do you know the full name of Modi? It’s ‘Narendra Damodardas Modi’. Narendra means negative, Damodardas means Dalit and Modi means Man – he is ‘Negative Dalit Man’, which means that he is an ‘anti-Dalit.”
She also condemned the prime minister for calling himself the son of Uttar Pradesh, saying, “Modi has been resorting to a lot of ‘naatakbaazi’ like calling himself the adopted son of Uttar Pradesh and a servant of the state just to mislead people. But, the people of the state are smart enough not to trust him again,” she said.
The BSP chief also claimed that the growing vote bank of BSP has rattled PM Modi, adding, “Unlike the PM, who married and abandoned his wife, I never got married and devoted my whole life for the development of the state.”
“Considering my sacrifices, people of the weaker section not only consider me as their leader but also as their big asset,” she added.
Naming herself as the sole voice of Dalits and Muslims, she appealed people not to vote for the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
“Mulayam Singh Yadav has sidelined his brother Shivpal to put his son Akhilesh Yadav on top of the party leadership. The SP has been divided in two factions and they will put in their best efforts to defeat each other. If Muslim votes get divided, it will only benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will benefit,” she said.
“Muslims should unite to vote for BSP. Our Dalit vote base is intact. If Muslims vote in tandem then the BJP can never come to power in the state,” Mayawati asserted.
Earlier on Monday, criticising Mayawati for opposing Centre’s demonetisation drive, PM Modi said the nature of the party has changed to ‘Behenji Sampatti Party’ and blamed her for amassing ill-gotten wealth after demonetisation.
