Gorakhpur: Politically, Utar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath, the Mahant of Goraksh Peeth here, may be surmised as a hindutava hardliner but his sprawling Gorakh Dham temple premises tells a counterfactual tale. In fact, the Gorakh Dham premises presents a picture of unique communal harmony where hundreds of muslims families earn their bread and butter under the custodianship of Yogi.

The Gorakh Dham temple in Gorakhpur city of easetrn UP is surrounded by a sizable minority population and they all come to Yogi whenever they face any problem. In fact, they find Yogi as the one-stop solution to many of their family and personal problems  The newstrack.com spoke to score of muslim families inside or outside the premises and they were all praise for Gogi Adityanath and sounded extremely happy on his elevation as the UP CM.

 There are about four hundred big and small shops with in the precincts of Gorakh Nath Temple , about 75 per cent belong to muslims. Many of them have been residing there since generations and never complained of any discrimination on communal grounds. They think themselves as the part of temple and do not look beyond it.

Some unconfirmed reports even suggest that some of domestic and personal helpers are minority members and take pride in working for Yogi.One Mohammad Yaseen and his father-in-law Jaggan are residents of same premises and they are not willing to listen anything against the New UP CM.

Similar view were expressed by a muslim lady Sahira who said it was Yogi who informed them about the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Scheme and his men helped them to apply and get the benefit. ”He is our true public representative,” she summed up.

“Who says that Yogi Aditynath is communal. He is an honest and truthful person who always hates liars and anti- India voices. What irks Yogi is those who live in India but eulogise others,” Yaseen says in defense of Yogi. He also tells that he and his father-in-law are always called when there is any construction work arises in the temple premises.
