Prime Minister Narendra Modi has viciously attacked the grand coalition of opposition parties, calling it an alliance against the people of India. The statement has come in the backdrop of the mega Trinamool Congress (TMC) rally that is being organised in Kolkata on Saturday.

"Unlike other parties, we are not in politics for divide and rule or building vote banks. We are here to serve the country in every possible way. The upcoming polls are very important for BJP and the country," said Modi during his interaction with BJP workers from Mayiladuthurai, Perambalur, Sivaganga, Theni and Virudhunagar in Tamil Nadu through video conference.

He pointed out how the coming together of the SP and BSP even in an informal way had ensured that the BJP lost seats held by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his deputy Keshav Prasad Maurya. With BSP extending its support to the SP candidates in Phulpur and Gorakhpur, BJP candidates lost in both the parliamentary by-polls in 2018, leaving the ruling party red-faced.
