नई दिल्ली : पूर्वोत्तर की तीन राज्यों में विधानसभा चुनावों की उलटी गिनती शुरू हो चुकी है, चुनाव की शुरुआत 18 फरवरी को त्रिपुरा से होगी, जहां सत्ता पर पिछले 20 सालों से मणिक सरकार के नेतृत्व वाली मार्क्सवादी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (माकपा)का कब्जा है।
राजनीतिक रूप से त्रिपुरा में विधानसभा की 60 सीटें हैं। इसके अलावा राज्य की कुल आबादी 2012 की जनगणना के मुताबिक 36.58 लाख है। आठ जिलों के साथ राज्य में दो लोकसभा सीट है साथ ही यहां की सरकार राज्यसभा में अपना एक प्रतिनिधि भेजती है।
हरी पहाड़ियों और सुनहरे रंग के संतरे पर्यटकों को अपनी ओर आकर्षित करते हैं। हाल ही में त्रिपुरा ने केरल (93.91 प्रतिशत)को पीछे छोड़कर 94.65 फीसदी साक्षरता दर हासिल की है।

अगरतला में कई प्रसिद्ध स्मारक और मंदिर राज्य के मशहूर पर्यटन स्थलों में शामिल हैं जिनमें उज्जयंता महल, नीरमहल, जगन्नाथ मंदिर, महाराजा बीर बिक्रम कॉलेज, लक्ष्मी नारायण मंदिर और रविन्द्र कनान प्रमुख हैं।
उज्जयंता महल को महाराजा राधा किशोर माणिक्य ने बनवाया था। इसका निर्माण कार्य 1901 में पूरा हुआ था और इसका इस्तेमाल राज्य विधानसभा के रूप में किया जा रहा है।
अगरतला पिछले कुछ सालों में चावल, तिलहन, चाय और जूट के नियमित व्यापार के लिए पूर्वोत्तर भारत का एक व्यवसायिक गढ़ बन चुका है। शहर में कुछ प्रसिद्ध बाजार हैं जहां बड़े पैमाने पर हस्तशिल्प और ऊन से बने वस्त्र बड़ी मात्रा में बिकते हैं।
वहीं, बात करें राज्य की राजधानी अगरतला की तो यह विधानसभा क्षेत्र हावड़ा नदी के किनारे बसा है और पड़ोसी देश बांग्लादेश से कुछ किलोमीटर दूर स्थित है। विधानसभा सीट संख्या-6 अगरतला में इस बार चुनाव में कुल 48,906 मतदाता अपने मतों का प्रयोग करेंगे। अगरतला विधानसभा में कुल महिला मतदाता की संख्या 24,803 है जबकि पुरुष मतदाता की संख्या 24,103 है।
बात करें क्षेत्रीय राजनीति की तो अगरतला विधानसभा क्षेत्र पर 1998 से पिछले चार विधानसभा चुनावों में बतौर कांग्रेस उम्मीदवार जीतने वाले सुदीप रॉय बरमन ने 2016 में तृणमूल कांग्रेस और 2017 में भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) का दामन थाम लिया था। पिछले चुनावों में खाता न खोल पाने वाली भाजपा ने बरमान पर दांव लगाकर इस क्षेत्र पर अपना दबदबा मजबूत कर लिया है।
सुदीप रॉय बर्मन का विवादों से गहरा नाता रहा है, दिसंबर 2016 में विधानसभा सत्र के दौरान कांग्रेस से बागी और टीएमसी विधायक सुदीप रॉय बर्मन कार्यवाही के दौरान स्पीकर की छड़ी (सिम्बल ऑफ अथॉरिटी यानी मेस) लेकर भाग गए। घटना के बाद कार्यवाही को कुछ देर के लिए स्थगित कर दिया गया था और अध्यक्ष रामेंद्र चंद्र देबनाथ ने घटना की निंदा की थी।
सुदीप की क्षेत्रीय राजनीति पर अच्छी पकड़ है। वह त्रिपुरा प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी और त्रिपुरा प्रदेश युवा कांग्रेस समिति के पूर्व अध्यक्ष रह चुके हैं साथ ही वह त्रिपुरा के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री समीर रंजन बर्मन के बेटे हैं। इन विधानसभा चुनाव में भाजपा ने उन्हें अपना उम्मीदवार बनाया है।
वहीं कांग्रेस ने प्रसंता सेन चौधरी को अपना उम्मीदवार घोषित किया है, चौधरी पेशे से वकील हैं और विधानसभा क्षेत्र में बखूबी जाने जाते हैं। चौधरी ने गरीबों के लिए कई मामले लड़े हैं जिसे काफी सराहना मिली है। वकालत के अलावा वह समाजसेवा और राजनीति से पिछले 30 सालों से जुड़े हुए हैं और अगरतला में एक जाना पहचाना चेहरा बन चुके हैं। चौधरी कांग्रेस की युवा शाखा एनएसयूआई और त्रिपुरा प्रदेश कांग्रेस इकाई के महासचिव भी रह चुके हैं।
इसके अलावा सत्तारूढ़ माकपा ने अगरतला विधानसभा क्षेत्र से महिला कृष्णा मजूमदार को मैदान में उतारा है। कृष्णा को पहली बार इस सीट से खड़ा किया गया है। दरअसल पिछले चार विधानसभा चुनावों और 20 सालों से माकपा सुदीप के इस अभेद किले में सेंध लगाने में नाकाम रही है।
दिग्गज दलों के अलावा तृणमूल कांग्रेस के पन्ना देब और त्रिपुरा पीपुल्स पार्टी के प्रबीण सिंह चुनाव मैदान में अपनी किस्मत आजमा रहे हैं।
चुनावों में माकपा ने 57 सीटों पर अपने उम्मीदवार घोषित किए हैं तो वहीं भाजपा ने 51 सीटों पर अपने उम्मीदवार खड़े किए हैं। कांग्रेस ने सभी 60 सीटों पर अपने उम्मीदवार मैदान में उतारे हैं।
60 सदस्यीय विधानसभा के लिए मतदान 18 फरवरी को होगा और तीन फरवरी को मतों की गणना की जाएगी।
