Never underestimate MS Dhoni: Warne’s apparent reply to Ganguly

New Delhi: As MS Dhoni is losing lustre, critics are targeting him for his worrying form in the Indian Premiere League. Even Sourav Ganguly had doubted him for his poor show in the T20 format of the game. Extending support to Mahi, Australian spin legend Shane Warne has come with an answer to the former Indian skipper.

Warne, on micro-blogging site Twitter, said Dhoni is one of the greats and need not to prove things to anyone.

“MS Dhoni does not have to prove anything to anyone; he’s class & a wonderful player in all formats. MS is also a great captain and inspires,” tweeted Shane Warne. The tweet could be seen as a reply to Ganguly.

Earlier, Ganguly had doubted Dhoni as a good T20 player, saying, “I am not too sure if Dhoni is a good T20 player. He is a champion ODI player but when it comes to T20 cricket, in 10 years, he has got one fifty and that’s not the best record.”

MSD is going through some tough time in IPL 10 with hardly any runs coming off his bat.

Dhoni, known for hitting humongous sixes, has managed to hit just two sixes so far in the 10th edition of the cash-rich league. He has scores of 12, 5, 11, 5 and 28 in the last five outings of Rising Pune Supergiants.

His glove-work behind the stumps, however, has remained undisputedly brilliant.
