Lucknow gets 'Killer-Tyre' installed to battle wrong-way driving

Lucknow: The Nawabs of Lucknow can no longer enjoy the liberty to ride on either side of the road as the authorities have flung into the action to make Lucknow wrong-way driving free.

To catch traffic rule violators, government recently ran a trial for ‘Tyre Killers’ at Gomtinagar extension flyover, also known as Janeshwar Mishra flyover. Not to our amusement many violators were seen driving on the wrong side of the flyover.

The ‘Tyre killers’ work on a very simple mechanism, they are pointed towards the oncoming side of the traffic which causes one’s tyres to puncture or lose air. While, it slips into the ground as a vehicle goes over it in the right direction, inflicting no harm to the vehicle.

However, Lucknow isn’t the only Indian City to get Hi-tech traffic system, a similar trial run was conducted in Noida, in December 2018.

There have been many news that the authorities may consider using this method to curb the ever increasing traffic violations in other cities as well.

It is a moment of proud to say that Lucknow is not far from getting its name listed as India’s one of the safest cities in term of Road safety with Lucknow Metro, Pothole free roads, and with such advanced traffic measures.
