New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday condemned the incidents of harassment of Kashmiri youths studying in different universities outside Jammu and Kashmir. He directed all the states to ensure their safety.
In an appeal to the people of India, he said Kashmiri youth is like us and should be treated well.
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader has said that an advisory has been sent by the Home Ministry to all the states regarding the same.
“Few incidents of misbehaviour towards Kashmiris have come to my knowledge. This is condemnable. It is my appeal to all the chief ministers to provide appropriate security to Kashmiri students,” said Rajnath Singh.
“It is my humble appeal to the India people to consider them like fellow citizens and treat them well,” he added. Home Minister’s reaction came after Kashmiri students received threats in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
